Johdanto Otan työssäni kantaa psykiatrisiin diagnooseihin, esimerkiksi ADHD:n suhteen. Medioissa ADHD:sta puhutaan ja kirjoitetaan todella paljon. Ihmiset kuvaavat kokemuksiaan näistä tutkimuksista, oireiden kanssa elämisestä tai oireiden sivuuttamisesta. Usein tähdennetään ”oikean diagnoosin” ja ”perusteellisen tutkimuksen” merkitystä. Olen tehnyt näitä tutkimuksia reilusti yli kymmenen vuoden ajan ja ollut mukana katsomassa ADHD-diagnostiikan valtavaa tulvaa julkisen sektorin mielenterveystyössä.
